About The opportunity | Ko te āheinga:

We are looking for a Sustainable Transport Advisor to join the team in producing, implementing and monitoring the Regional Land Transport Plan and the Regional Public Transport Plan for Hawke’s Bay.

Our Transport team are currently navigating their way through important challenges, such as reducing carbon emissions through actively promoting bus ridership and decreasing reliance on personal vehicles. This position plays a pivotal role within the team, as the interface between our partners, customers, and communities. As the Sustainable Transport Advisor, your expertise in Excel will be vital for data collection and interpretation, enabling us to find solutions to these environmental challenges. Your exceptional interpersonal skills will play a crucial role in fostering strong relationships. Joining our close-knit team, you will thrive in a dynamic and supportive environment. The role demands the ability to work independently and collaboratively, as we tackle complex issues. You will be someone with a passion for making a positive impact on outcomes for our community in a sustainable way. Interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with people from all walks of life will serve you well in this role, as you connect with people from a diverse range of backgrounds. Our aim is to remove barriers to the use of public and active transport so we need someone who is innovative and enthusiastic in their approach to this work.

Ideally you will also have:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification.
  • 3 years of experience in a similar role/relevant industry, evidencing good understanding of transport issues in Hawke’s Bay or a similar provincial centre.
  • Evidence of data collection experience and a strong understanding of Microsoft Excel functions.
  • The ability to effectively plan, organise and co-ordinate work to ensure that goals are achieved with the highest quality of work possible within agreed timeframes.
  • A kind and caring nature, someone who values connection with others.
  • The ability to take initiative and problem solve effectively

The salary range for this role will depend on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
