About The opportunity | Ko te āheinga:

Are you a multi-skilled person who has experience in tractor operation, takes pride in your work, is committed to safe work practice, physically fit, and wants to work in a positive team?

A position has become available at the Hawkes Bay Regional Council Works Group as a catchment worker focusing on tractor operation, mowing and spraying across the Council’s river and drainage network. The role will be based out of Guppy Road, Taradale but work across various sites depending on the needs of the team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors and making a positive contribution in our region caring for natural resources.

About you | E pā ana ki a koe:

We are seeking a person with a broad range of practical skills who is experienced in the operation of agricultural tractors. You will be committed to safe work practices, have a positive attitude to health and safety, and be comfortable working independently, or in a team environment.

Alongside this, you will:

  • Be able to communicate effectively with a broad range of people including landowners and Council engineers. 
  • Be fit and healthy.
  • Have solid documentation skills and have technical ability in the use of mobile electronic devices.
  • A clean current Class 1 driver’s license with W-endorsement would be required.

The hourly rate for this role will depend on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
