About The opportunity | Ko te āheinga:

The HBRC Compliance team actively promotes, monitors and investigates compliance with the RMA and associated regulations and takes appropriate action when required. The team has the capability to lead and supervise enforcement investigations and prepare and present expert evidence in the Environment Court. A key function of this team is on providing guidance, education and advice on compliance matters to our stakeholders, including the community, tangata whenua, resource consent holders, around the sustainable use of natural resources and regulatory compliance.

 

This fulltime, permanent role sits within our Rural Compliance team with a focus on supporting and coordinating the administrative processes of the team while providing information to our consent holders. You will need to work closely within the wider Compliance team to maintain and update the monitoring database, ensuring that data is correctly processed and documented in line with regulatory policy requirements. There is a strong customer focus, responding to enquiries about consent compliance, invoices and reports. You will assist the team with recording incidents reported through our pollution hotline. The role will also participate in project work as part of our continuous development of internal compliance processes.

To be successful in this role, you will need to show excellent communication skills, creative problem solving and thrive in a fast paced and ever changing environment! You will be able to take on multiple tasks while maintaining a strong attention to detail.  An understanding of environmental issues and data management would be beneficial. An ability to plan and schedule your own work, and to work with little or no supervision is a must. You will get to work across a diverse portfolio and be a key member of the team, providing administrative support as needed to ensure the work flows smoothly.

 

You will also have:

  • 3 + years experience working in administration or coordination role with a sound understanding of office administration processes.
  • Strong customer service skills, ideally with some experience in dealing with members of the public and handling difficult situations.
  • A pro-active nature that drives you to look for solutions and improvement opportunities.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office and software skills with the ability to trouble shoot problems.
  • Familiarity with the Resource Management Act would be advantageous.
  • Resilience, adaptability, and flexibility to keep up with the ever-changing nature of HBRC

 

What we offer | Nga huanga mōu

The salary range for this role is between $59,130 to $65,700 dependant on your level of qualification and experience.
