Hawke’s Bay Regional Council (HBRC) is dedicated to leveraging data to drive operational excellence and strategic decision-making. We are expanding our capabilities and seek a passionate Data & Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst to join our dynamic team. If you are driven by data, technology, and creating impactful solutions, HBRC is the place for you.

 

As a Data & BI Analyst at HBRC, you will play a pivotal role in defining and implementing our Enterprise Data Strategy. This strategy ensures that our data is maintained, stored, secured, backed up, and made available in ways that enhance operational effectiveness, are cost-efficient, and adhere to stringent data governance and security standards. In this role, you will:

  • Lead the design of data solutions and reports to meet organisational needs.
  • Support data migration projects and develop data management processes and policies.
  • Engage with staff to gather and understand reporting requirements.
  • Develop and provision BI reports and dashboards to address various business requirements.
  • Assist in designing solutions for applications, reports, and interfaces.
  • Contribute to the technical design of data solutions, ensuring alignment with departmental and organisational ICT architecture, roadmaps, strategies, and operational standards.
  • Provide input to frameworks to ensure that technical delivery is conducted in a repeatable and supportable manner.

This position is integral to ensuring our data solutions are appropriate, effective, and aligned with our overall ICT architecture and operational standards.

We are looking for a Data & Business Intelligence Analyst who has:

  • Proven experience as a Data Analyst, BI Analyst, or in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, data security, and data management best practices.
  • Proficiency in BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and data visualisation techniques.
  • Experience with data migration projects and developing data management processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Resilience, adaptability, and flexibility to keep up with the ever-changing nature of HBRC.

 

What we offer | Nga huanga mōu:

The salary range for this role is $76,645 - $96,511 and will depend on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
