About The opportunity | Ko te āheinga:

We’re looking for a Solution Engineer to join our Information and Communication Technology team at Hawke’s Bay Regional Council.

As a Solution Engineer, you’ll be instrumental in designing, deploying, and supporting technology solutions that enhance business processes and service delivery. You’ll work across a diverse technology landscape, with a strong focus on integrations and automation using tools such as Power Automate, FME, and Azure Logic Apps, as well as delivering insights through Power BI reporting. You’ll be responsible for translating business needs into technical designs that are effective, secure, and aligned with our ICT architecture and standards. Whether it’s building new solutions or improving existing ones, your work will help ensure our technology is scalable, supportable, and future-ready. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, agile delivery environment while also contributing to long-term strategic initiatives.

You’ll be a proactive and technically skilled Solution Engineer who brings a strong foundation in IT and a desire to grow. You’ll be passionate about solving complex problems, eager to learn, and confident working across a broad set of technologies and platforms.

 

You will also have:

  • A relevant Bachelor’s degree or equivalent tertiary qualification
  • 1–3+ years’ post-qualification experience that includes software development, system implementation, and administration
  • Professional training and certifications in IT technical or architecture disciplines (desirable)
  • A valid driver’s licence

 

What we offer | Nga huanga mōu:

The salary range for this role is $79,645 - $96,417 and will depend on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
