We are looking for a Business Systems Analyst to join our Business Support team within the Information, Communication & Technology (ICT) Group. The Business Support team ensures production systems run effectively while equipping Council units with the right tools, driving process improvements, implementing small application changes, and delivering data and reporting to support efficient operations.
In this position, you will work closely with Hawke’s Bay Civil Defence Emergency Management (HB CDEM) to support the development and integration of systems that enable effective information sharing and coordination across councils, government agencies, partners, mana whenua, and communities. At the same time, you will maintain and enhance existing organisational systems, ensuring that all business solutions—new and existing—are fit for purpose, cost-effective, and meet the evolving needs of HB CDEM, HBRC, and end users.
You will lead investigative work to uncover, analyse, and prioritise business requirements, translating them into streamlined processes and improvements across systems, data management, and organisational practices. Collaborating closely with the Projects team, you will also contribute to the delivery of strategic initiatives while driving continuous improvement. Your work will help ensure new systems are successfully adopted by collaborating with users, delivering clear training, conducting thorough testing, and creating simple guides that build confidence and support.

The salary range for this role is between $88,995 to $104,700 and will depend on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
