Bus fares across the GoBay network will increase from Sunday, May 3. The average five per cent fare increase is in response to rising operational costs.
Regional Transport Committee Chair Neil Kirton says fares are reviewed annually to ensure they reflect changes in the costs of running the service.
“This year, costs have increased due to driver wage rises, the fuel price hike, and vehicle maintenance. Ensuring fares continue to pay their proportion of the costs is necessary to ensure that the service is reliable and financially sustainable,” he says. While fares are increasing, there is no change to payment methods. Bee Cards remain the most cost effective way to travel on the GoBay network.
Below are the bus fares that will be in effect from Sunday May 3.
