About the opportunity | Ko te āheinga:

We have an exciting opportunity for an HR Advisor to join our HR Team and provide practical, people-focused solutions within an organisation committed to the sustainable management of our valuable natural resources. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity based in Napier. 

In this diverse role, you will partner with leaders and support employees across Council, providing expert HR guidance across the employee lifecycle and helping to deliver positive people and organisational outcomes. From recruitment and onboarding to employee relations, performance management, and learning and development, you will help deliver practical people solutions while fostering a positive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace culture.

About you | E pā ana ki a koe:

You will be an experienced HR professional with a passion for delivering practical, people-focused solutions.  Comfortable working across a broad range of HR activities, you will enjoy partnering with leaders, supporting employees, and building positive working relationships across the organisation. You will bring sound HR advisory experience, a collaborative approach, and the confidence to navigate a variety of people matters with professionalism, empathy, and good judgement. Adaptable and solutions-focused, you'll thrive in a dynamic environment and enjoy contributing to a positive, high-performing workplace culture.

You will also have:

• A tertiary qualification in Human Resources or a related discipline
• At least two years' experience in an HR advisory or generalist HR role.
• Sound knowledge of New Zealand employment legislation and HR best practice
• Working knowledge of key HR disciplines, including employment relations, union engagement, diversity and inclusion, performance management, and organisational development.

What we offer | Nga huanga mōu:

The salary range for this role is between $88,995 to $104,700 and will depend on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
