Time to Clean Up
Hawke’s Bay Regional Council’s draft Annual Plan for 2017-18 is out for public consultation from Monday 10 April until 4.00pm on Friday 12 May 2017.

Our two-page centrespread is in local papers this coming week, libraries, our offices and online now at hbrc.govt.nz, search: #AP2017.

We Need Your Help
While our regional economy is booming, in this Year Three of the Long Term Plan 2015-25, we have some big challenges in our rivers, lakes and streams. We need to fix them and we need your help to do this.
Our proposals identify six environment hot-spot areas we want to give special focus to, without taking our eye off other issues in our region. The hot-spot areas are: Lake Tutira, Ahuriri Estuary, Whakaki Lake/ Wairoa River, Lake Whatuma/ Tukituki Catchment, Karamu Stream, and our Marine Environment.

We propose a one-off rates increase to create a $1 million environmental kick-start fund to accelerate action in these hot-spot areas. We also seeking funding to maintain the Council’s core business.
