Total Mobility Coordinator (Part Time) - (Vacancy No 17-906)

Do you have exceptional customer service ability? Do you have experience in dealing with people with disabilities?

The Total Mobility Scheme (TMS) provides subsidised taxi travel for Hawke’s Bay residents who are unable to use public transport due to a significant, permanent impairment. It pays 50% of the cost of a taxi fare (up to a maximum amount) for those on the Scheme.

The scheme is administered in this region by Hawke’s Bay Regional Council, and funded by both the Council and New Zealand Transport Agency.

The Council wants to fill this role for 22 hours per week, with a person who has preferably had experience working with people with a serious impairment or disability who need assistance with their quality of life.

The successful applicant will have empathy, patience and an understanding nature to assist those applying for Total Mobility assistance. You will also need to be methodical and accurate with a good eye for detail.  Strong relationships with a range of assessor organisations and transport providers will need to be nurtured and maintained.

The effective and timely preparation of reports and maintaining good financial records are also important aspects of this role.
