Hawke’s Bay Civil Defence Emergency Management (HBCDEM) is seeking suitable applicants for this important role to lead the development of a Hikurangi Response Plan (HRP) for the East Coast of the North Island of New Zealand for a twelve month period.
This is a multi-agency project which will coordinate civil defence emergency management response planning using relevant scientific knowledge related to the Hikurangi subduction zone. The role will work with scientists to develop a maximum credible subduction hazard scenario from the largest source of earthquake and tsunami risk in New Zealand, to inform community consideration of the impacts and consequences. As project leader you will need to promote a coordinated, and well prepared, interagency approach when responding to an event, and identify future requirements.
This is an exciting role with a very important outcome. If you are well organised, knowledgeable about the issues related to emergency management and have a strong ability to gain cooperation across a range of agencies, then this could be the right role for you.
A qualification in a relevant discipline is desirable and you will need to have a high degree of self-confidence and an ability to facilitate a consensus approach with diverse groups.
