Financial Accountant

Are you a highly motivated financial professional looking

for a varied and challenging role in a great lifestyle area?

Hawke’s Bay Regional Council is looking for a Financial Accountant to join our busy Finance team.  This is a new position created due to expected growth through our long term plan and will report directly to the CFO.

You will be the ‘go‑to’ person for financial reporting, audit requirements and maintaining the general ledger. You must be passionate about performance, have high attention to detail and work well in a team environment.

You will have:

  • An accounting degree.
  • Chartered Accountants qualification or be working towards one.
  • Experience in financial accounting or audit.
  • Great communication skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • A good understanding of accounting systems
