goBay public transport - driver shortage

goBus

You may have noticed a few new faces driving the goBay public transport services.

Due to a shortage of permanent drivers, Go Bus have been drafting in spare drivers from other regions to help ensure that services across Napier and Hastings operate to the timetable.

The driver shortage is not only here in Hawke’s Bay, but in other regions too.

“We believe there is a national shortage of bus drivers, as well as here in Hawke's Bay,” says Hawke’s Bay Regional Council Transport Coordinator Megan Welsby.

If you or anyone you know is interested in becoming a bus driver on the goBay public transport network, contact Go Bus Transport direct on hawkesbay@gobus.co.nz or phone 878 9250.
