People and Capability Advisor [Fixed Term] (Vacancy 19-292)

Hawke's Bay Regional Council (HBRC) is the regional authority for the Hawke's Bay region in New Zealand with key roles in environmental management and education; flood control, drainage, pollution, waste, land, water and coastal management. Supporting approximately 160,000 residents, Council's vision is to enable a healthy environment, a vibrant community and a prosperous economy.

About the opportunity:

Hawke's Bay Regional Council has been through a period of growth and development, the People and Capability team are looking for an experienced Advisor for a fixed period of 12 months to cover parental leave. This is a generalist position leading the Talent Acquisition and recruitment portfolio. As part of the Office of the Chief Executive and Chair, the role will report to the People and Capability Manager providing guidance and advice to internal stakeholders. You will have an active part in developing the People and Capability Strategy and development of the Talent Acquisition Plan. The salary range for this position is $74,790 - $84,762 depending on qualifications and experience.

About you:

You will have at least 5 years experience as an HR Advisor or Business Partner in a generalist or recruitment position.

Specifically you will have;

• A tertiary degree in HR or related field
• Practical experience dealing with HR issues, recruitment and legislation.
• Working knowledge of employment relations.
• Have the legal right to work in New Zealand.
