GIS Analyst


Hawke's Bay Regional Council (HBRC) is the regional authority for the Hawke's Bay region in New Zealand with key roles in environmental management and education; flood control, drainage, pollution, waste, land, water and coastal management. Supporting approximately 160,000 residents, Council's vision is to enable a healthy environment, a vibrant community and a prosperous economy.  

About the opportunity:

We are currently seeking a GIS Analyst to join our GIS Team at Hawke’s Bay Regional Council. The team is dedicated to delivering excellent service, to both internal and external customers.

You will be working with all parts of the Council, using GIS to visualise and analyse spatial data. You will also apply your GIS skills to create meaningful insight utilising both web and field applications.

You will have the opportunity to learn, grow and directly contribute to Council and have a very visible and tangible impact on our service delivery.

This role is full time and the salary range for suitable candidates that meet the requirements for this role is $74,790 to $84,762 depending on qualifications and experience.

About you:

  • Enthusiastic about Geospatial technologies.
  • Have a Tertiary qualification in either GIS or related subject.
  • Working knowledge of the ESRI software product suite.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Have the legal right to work in New Zealand.
