Hawke’s Bay Regional Council works with its communities to protect and manage the region’s taonga of rivers, lakes, soils, air, coast and biodiversity for the sake of health, wellbeing and connectivity. The Group Manager, Policy and Regulation is a newly reconfigured position, on the Executive Team, that will lead a capable team responsible for policy, planning, transport, consents, compliance and the Harbour Master.  It will lead policy reform and be the public face for issues involving fresh water, coast, air quality, climate change, biodiversity and regional planning.
 
To be successful in this key position, you will have proven senior leadership experience and a policy, planning and RMA background, with a sound understanding of regulatory environments.  You will be customer-focused, creative and innovative in your thinking, have sound judgement and be known for your strong engagement and partnering skills, including with iwi.
 
This is an exciting time to join this well-resourced, progressive and respected Council, and to lead advancements and reforms that will benefit the wider Hawke’s Bay Region and its communities.
