About the Opportunity:

The Hawke’s Bay Regional Council is seeking applications for an ICT Desktop Support to join a great team and deliver excellent customer service across the organisation.  The purpose of the ICT Infrastructure and Support Team is to ensure all ICT Services are reliable, secure and easily accessible.

The key objectives of the ICT Desktop Support role are:

  • Providing assistance in management, deployment and delivery of the Council’s desktop and application environment.
  • Developing and maintaining a wide range of documentation relating to the systems supported by the team.
  • Ensuring that all standards, guidelines and policies are followed.
  • Service deliver of the desktop, application, and standard operating environment as well as centralised and operational management.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a “can do!” attitude.
  • Is self-motivated.
  • Is customer focused.

The successful candidate will ideally possess and demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Tertiary, Microsoft, ITIL or other industry standard certification or qualifications      
  • Evidence of professional development or relevant certifications.
  • Provide proactive level 1 and level 2 operational support as well as reactive incident management with problem management: with guidance from Level 3 when unable to resolve
  • 2+ years’ experience with end user software and application support in a corporate environment, including Windows 10, Microsoft Office Applications; Outlook, Word, Excel and MS Teams. Proficiency at writing PowerShell scripts, GPOS and Conditional Polices
  • Experience in group policy management
  • Experience with Active Directory design for computers and users
  • Experience with Windows Intune
  • Experience with Windows operating systems
  • Formal study/Qualification in a related field
  • Communicates well with non-technical staff

The salary range for this role is $58,000 to $65,000 per annum depending on qualifications and experience.
