Taking gravel from the Tukituki or Waipawa River diversion controlled area

If you would like to extract gravel from the controlled area, you MUST apply using the form on this page. Completion of this form does NOT constitute immediate authorisation to extract gravel, but you will be contacted with priority.

This notice comes into force at 12am on Friday 1 September 2023. This notice replaces the previous Tukituki River Controlled Area Notice that expires Thursday 31 August at 11.59pm.

The purpose of this notice is to declare this area as a controlled area, establish movement controls, and specify conditions and procedures to enable the limitation of the spread of Nassella neesiana (Chilean needle grass) while enabling the movement of river gravel in order to allow repairs to rural infrastructure arising from the effects of Cyclone Gabrielle.

Please read this public notice and complete the application form if you wish to remove gravel from the Controlled Area.
