Working with the community during constructionTe mahi tahi me te hapori i te wa e hanga ana

We have established a Stakeholder Advisory Group (STAG) to ensure community and stakeholder voices are heard as we build the flood resilience for Pōrangahau.

About the STAG

Formed in February 2026, the STAG comprises landowners, mana whenua, and other key groups. The role of the STAG is to inform and advise Hawke’s Bay Regional Council (HBRC) about managing and monitoring the flood protection works in Pōrangahau.

Purpose

The STAG provides community insight and helps protect community interests, monitoring construction impacts. Meetings are held monthly or as needed.
