Webcam images refresh every hour, with the date and time of the latest capture shown beneath each image. Select View larger image for a closer look, or refresh your browser for the most up-to-date view.

Webcams operate during daylight hours and may pause in darkness or low visibility, but monitoring continues behind the scenes.

Hawke's Bay Regional Council use information captured from the cameras for flood monitoring, stream health and asset management.

Our flood dashboard brings together rainfall, river level and forecast information from across Hawke’s Bay to help you keep an eye on conditions as they change. You’ll also find rainfall and river monitoring maps, and other tools that support awareness of potential flooding.

All monitoring and use of footage is carried out in accordance with the Privacy Act 1993. Anonymised data is collected to assist with immediate responses and to help with evidence-based planning to improve the environment and our safety.

Recorded footage is stored for on average 26 days before being overwritten. See our Privacy Statement. 

Our highly-trained data engineers and scientists use the cameras to monitor any weather incidents or situations arising where people may be at risk, and work with Police, outreach services and other partners.
