ICT Project Manager

About the Opportunity:

We are looking for an ICT Project Manager to join our ICT team, with an initial focus on implementing Council’s Enterprise Asset Management System. Reporting directly to the Chief Information Officer, this role will see you responsible for the end-to-end delivery of designated IT projects and initiatives ensuring projects are delivered within the agreed project delivery framework. The ICT Project Manager will have scope across multiple projects including, but not limited to custom applications and software, GIS services and solutions, information management services and ICT related professional services such as business analysis, reporting, product enhancement and development, procurement and contract management.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Build and maintain high level relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure that project initiatives are well communicated
  • Defining project scope and deliverables that support HBRC’s goals
  • Organise and manage allocated projects including day-to-day operational aspects
  • Effective tracking of key project milestones and multiple streams of work, adjust project plans and/or resources to meet project deliverables
  • Track and manage project activities and deliverables to achieve agreed outcomes and identify and develop mitigation strategies to manage project interdependencies
  • Effectively manage relationships and communications with project stakeholders, including internal customers and delivery teams
  • Be the primary liaison point to the Steering Group to convey project progress, highlight risks, escalate issues, seek approval to changes and obtain decisions to key project matters
  • Manage relationships with vendors and third-party suppliers (where applicable)

About you:

You will have several years’ experience at a Project Management level and be considered an expert, along with a relevant tertiary qualification and a formal project management qualification or PRINCE2 certification to round off your expertise. Your leadership style will be collaborative and supportive to empower team members to achieve and delivery on milestones.  You will have the ability to clearly articulate and document business requirements into customer centric technical solutions and proven experience mapping business processes that can be translated into machine logic for workflow technologies.  Your communication skills are well honed and are accustomed to leading people and programs at a strategic and operational level within accountability for financial and people management functions. 

In addition, you will have:

  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to priorities workload and competing demands and conflicting priorities
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with and influence a variety of stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience with implementing organisational-wide change initiatives, including transformation of work practices and service delivery models
  • Financial management, budget development and reporting skills
  • Strong attention to detail and effective time management skills 
  • A passion to deliver successful projects and be driven to ensure the business adoption of the project deliverables
  • Be an inspiring and innovative leader
  • Be a confident negotiator

The salary range for this role is between $92,610 to $102,900 and will depend on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
