We have established a Stakeholder Advisory Group (STAG) to ensure community and stakeholder voices are heard as we build the stopbank in Waiohiki.

About the STAG

Formed in June 2025, the STAG comprises landowners, mana whenua, and other key groups. The role of the STAG is to inform and advise Hawke’s Bay Regional Council (HBRC) about managing and monitoring the flood protection works in Waiohiki.

Purpose

The STAG provides community insight and helps protect community interests, monitoring construction impacts. Meetings are held monthly or as needed.

Membership

Defined by the Severe Weather Emergency Recovery (Hawke's Bay Flood Protection Works) Order 2024, the STAG ensures diverse representation across key stakeholders.
