Are you a recent graduate eager to kickstart your career in HR and make a meaningful impact? We're seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our team as a People and Capability Coordinator. The P&C Coordinator is the keystone of our team, keeping us all on track with a calm and capable approach to the unpredictable world of HR, where no two days are the same.

This is a vital role supporting our organisation's most valuable asset – our people. We can offer an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various HR functions while contributing to our team of dedicated professionals. You will play a key role in administering and managing HR systems and processes, driving continuous improvement by coordinating, supporting and implementing best practice HR. As the first port of call for all P&C enquires, you will be exposed to a wide range of problems, making this a great learning environment for you! This is a diverse and dynamic role that, for the right person, can grow in complexity as your confidence develops.

Initially the key focus areas will be:

  • Provide coordination support to the team.
  • Oversee onboarding and exit processes with a lens of continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate learning and development opportunities.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives and help foster a positive work culture.
  • Manage HR systems and databases, ensuring accurate and up-to-date employee records.
  • Provide administrative support for performance management processes, development programs, and HR policies.
  • Address employee queries and concerns in a timely and professional manner as appropriate.

About you | E pā ana ki a koe:

You will be a highly organised, detail orientated, have a proactive attitude to your work, a passion for people, and a drive for excellence. Ideally you will be confident with undertaking data analysis, interpreting data and reporting back on people statistics to we ensure the work we do is having a positive impact at HBRC. Understanding of employment legislation and the ability to interpret and understand policy will be beneficial in this role.

It is essential to bring absolute integrity and confidentiality with a people centred approach to everything you do.  The successful applicant must be ready to learn and seize the opportunity to get stuck in across a wide range of tasks.

Ideally you will also have:

  • A relevant tertiary or diploma qualification in human resources.
  • Basic understanding or knowledge of relevant employment legislation.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
  • High level of digital literacy, especially in Microsoft Office suite. Familiarity with HRIS platforms is a plus.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.
  • Resilience, adaptability, and flexibility to keep up with the ever-changing nature of HBRC.
