About the Opportunity:

We are currently seeking a highly motivated, proactive and experienced People & Capability Advisor to join our team on a permanent fulltime basis. This ‘generalist’ role will see you partnering with two large business units providing day-to-day HR generalist support and advice in relation to employee relations, performance management, recruitment, training, remuneration, and HR policies & procedures.  You will also be involved with your colleagues in operationalising our People Plan.

Based in Napier, the People & Capability Team currently has two Advisors, one Coordinator and also includes the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Team, Payroll Team and a Change Manager.  We’re a friendly, collaborative and supportive team with a leader who is truly focused on supporting, developing and building team capability to ensure each team member achieves success!

 

About you:

Naturally, you interact and develop strong relationships at all levels with ease and your influential and engaging approach allows you to work with a range of stakeholders as you provide specialist P&C advice.  You’ll have a ‘solution focused’ style, and your resilience and impeccable customer service skills allows you to act with poise in difficult situations.

Ideally you will also have:

  • Demonstrated experience at an Advisory level
  • Outstanding communication skills with the ability to engage, partner, build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • The ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced working environment with autonomy and independence
  • Demonstrated high level of knowledge and understanding of human resource concepts and practices and how these are applied in the workplace
  • Tertiary qualification at degree level in human resources management, organisational development, business or a related field

The salary range for this role will depend on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
