People & Capability Advisor - Learning & Development

About the Opportunity:

We are currently seeking a highly motivated, proactive and experienced People & Capability Advisor to join our team on a fixed term, part-time basis, working 16 hours per week. Hours and days per week are flexible and will be negotiated with the successful candidate.  This role will have a focus on learning and development, sourcing and developing training and a competency framework across our business units. You will provide support and advice in relation to training, facilitation and the necessary programmes, processes and initiatives to attract, retain and sustain our people. You will also be involved with your colleagues in operationalising the People Plan.

Based in Napier, the People & Capability Team currently has two Advisors, one Coordinator and also includes the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Team, Payroll Team and a Change Manager.  We’re a friendly, collaborative and supportive team with a leader who is truly focussed on supporting, developing and building team capability to ensure each team member achieves success!

About you:

Naturally, you interact and develop strong relationships at all levels with ease and your influential and engaging approach allows you to work with a range of stakeholders as you provide specialist advice.  You’ll have a ‘solution focused’ style, and your resilience and impeccable customer service skills allow you to act with poise in difficult situations.

Ideally you will also have:

  • 10 + years’ experience in a learning and development role, preferably in a comparable role
  • Training development and facilitation experience
  • Experience in developing competency frameworks
  • Experience in developing learning programmes
  • Experience in utilising on-line training tools
  • Tertiary qualification at degree level in human resources management, organisational development, business or a related field

The salary range for this role is between $80,000 to $90,000 and will depend on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate. Please note, if you are successful in your application, in order to enter our Hawke’s Bay Regional Council facilities, you will be required to confirm you are fully vaccinated.
