About The opportunity | Ko te āheinga:

Hawke’s Bay Trails are part of Ngā Herenga’s 23 Great Rides of New Zealand and one of the most popular. It’s known for its beautiful scenery, relaxed cycling, world-class wine, great hospitality, rich cultural history and numerous outdoor activities.  Open all year round, nearly 200kms of mostly off-road trails crisscross the plains and main rivers, linking many of the sights and delights in Napier, Ahuriri, Bayview, Taradale, Clive, Haumoana, Te Awanga, Clifton, Havelock North and Hastings. We are very proud to have one of NZ’s Great Rides right here in the Hawke’s Bay and are looking for an admin superstar to help support the coordination of our cycle network. This is a part time role for 20 hours per week that will see you undertaking a wide variety of tasks. You might be out on the pathways networking and collecting surveys from trail users, or in the office updating our website and responding to social media enquiries. General admin tasks will be interchanged with event management and meeting coordination to keep you problem solving and thinking ahead. No 2 days will be exactly the same!

You will be passionate about our Hawke’s Bay environment and actively seek to promote cycling as a mode of transportation. This role is all about making the most of our natural resources and optimising public engagement with what we have to offer.

Ideally you will also have:

  • A solid administrative background that means you are confident with MS Office
  • Great time management skills
  • Open minded and creative approach to your work
  • Resilience, adaptability, and flexibility to keep up with the ever-changing nature of HBRC.

This role will be fixed term for 12 months.
