Hawke's Bay Regional Council (HBRC) is the regional authority for the Hawke's Bay region in New Zealand with key roles in environmental management and education; flood control, drainage, pollution, waste, land, water and coastal management. About the opportunity:
Hawke’s Bay Regional Council has two new Catchment Advisor [Fixed Term] positions focused on the Hill Country Erosion Scheme. Both roles are fixed term ending on 30 June 2023, one will be based in HBRC Wairoa Office and the other at the Gisborne District Council Offices. The focus of the role is to provide soil conservation advice, undertake erosion control plan preparation and provide support for erosion control works. You will promote and provide access to financial support for landowners to undertake sustainable land management practices and initiatives to reduce sediment in our waterways.
The salary range for suitable candidates that meet the requirements of this role is $69,210 - $78,438 depending on qualifications and experience.
You will be an excellent communicator, have a sound understanding of farming systems, sustainable land management practices and rural issues.
