2020-21 Annual Plan - for a Climate. Smart. Recovery.

CSR haveyoursay

Hawke's Bay people are being asked to comment on two proposals included in the Regional Council's 'Climate. Smart. Recovery.' consultation document.

Hawke’s Bay’s Regional Council is focused on supporting a climate smart recovery to address the economic challenges facing the region from both COVID-19 and the drought, and to cushion the effects of these events on the regional community.

The two topics being consulted on as a part of this year's 2020-21 Annual Plan are the approach to rates, and a potential recovery fund.

The rates approach topic asks whether or not to proceed with the 7.3% rates increase or keep the rates at the current level (a 0% rates increase), or proceed with half the planned rates increase at 3.6%. The 0% rates increase is the Council's preferred option.

The recovery fund topic asks whether or not to establish a $1 million recovery fund to add to any central government funding and accelerate planned Council projects that encourage growth. Establishing the recovery fund is the Council's preferred option.

The 2020-21 Annual Plan consultation document, submission info and other ways for the community to comment are at, search: #ourplan.

A printed copy of all information related to this consultation is at public libraries and Regional Council offices. The public can also call  06 835 9200 for a copy.
