Policy & Planning Coordinator (12 month fixed term)

The Hawke’s Bay Regional Council is seeking applications for a Policy & Planning Coordinator to join a great team of people in our Policy and Regulation Group. This role is designed to offer support to the Policy & Planning Manager and the wider team, through the administration and coordination of plan development processes, adherence to legislative requirements and support of team projects. Knowledge of the Resource Management Act 1991 (RMA) would be beneficial in this role.

About the Opportunity:

 The key objectives of the role are:

• Support RMA planning processes and coordinate submissions
• Organise and coordinate consultation meetings and hearings
• Provide timely and accurate administrative support and advice to the team
• Take responsibility for the maintenance of communications updates, submission documentation and reporting templates.
• Ensure high quality customer service is provided to community customers, groups, and contacts

 About you:

 The successful candidate will ideally possess and demonstrate the following competencies:

• A can-do attitude and be self-motivated
• Computer literacy and proficiency
• Sound communication skills both verbal and written
• An ability to cope with a variety of work under pressure
• Proven experience in customer service and administration

This is a 12-month fixed term position, 40 hours per week.
